Encyclopaedic volume published by the Good Pub Guide team, giving recommendations on places to visit in Britain. Annually updated with current prices, opening times, phone numbers and facilities.
For first edition (then called the Good Weekend Guide) in 1993, I supplied text on walking highlights in every county in Britain. Since then I have helped with the annual updating - inputting ideas and amending descriptions according to my own knowledge and views of places and attractions. It's a complicated, large-scale work, over 900 pages long, with many logistical problems to get round, but I feel it gets better and stronger each year. It's certainly the guidebook to Britain that I use most.
