The story of Martin Ephraim, my great-grandfather, a patriotic German who endowed his town, Görlitz, with art and public buildings. His Jewish background led to his eventual arrest by the Nazis, and deportation to Theresienstadt. In this article I visit his house, his factory and Theresienstadt, where he died.
