Writing with Holiday Which staff, I contributed chapters on Dartmoor, Exmoor, West Somerset and all of Cornwall.
This was one of my earliest writing projects. I still treasure the copious notes I took from weeks trawling round this superb part of Britain and have revisited on many occasions.
My travels took me to the Valley of Rocks and Doone Country in Exmoor, up to Bronze Age stone rows mysteriously perched on Dartmoor, into Somerset churches containing pagan-looking carved bench ends, through oak forests cloaking the lower slopes of the Quantocks, past ranges of garden gnomes in Cornwall and onto the primeval spaces of Penwith and the sublime Cornish coast.
